Shoreham Under10"s travelled to Chichester with a large contingent of their swelling numbers for some rugby fun in the sun. With some joint refresher work on tackling and mauling each squad was split to contest 2 long games.
With the introduction this year of rucking, mauling and three man uncontested scrums the games were treated as coaching opportunities and the chance to dust off the cobwebs of the summer.
As contests the matches were tighter than either set of coaches anticipated. Last season as Chichester Under 9's they were the county champions a fact that Shoreham players were not made aware of until after the final whistle. Now armed with the experience of making a very good team work so hard for their victory it will stand them in good stead in the coming months.
