Under 13 v Crawley

Hello all

What a way to start the season. 

We got a great welcome from crawley today. Great to see so many boys there today. We had 19 players so were able to have a few rolling subs. Nathan Funnell, Danny Potter, Daniel Hook, Felix Mason, William Bushby, AJ Holmes, William Calvert, Ben Carpenter, Harvey Norris, Rudy Heasman, Ray Carter, Sean Shepherd, Ewan Shepherd, Michael Gray, Cameron mander, Curtis Upton, Louis Leclercq, Daniel Norris and Finnbar Broxup.

So we start today off with some great warm up exercises and some forward and backs training. The boys seemed to enjoy the drills and some great scrum training too which is always really good.

We then got started into a great match after doing a 1 minute silence for France.  

We started with the ball and what a great start we had. With in the first 5 minutes Finnbar and William Calvert had both scored a try. With some great team work and good passing. Danny managed to convert the second try. So the game carried on with a further 2 tries being scored by Finnbar and Ewan.  Theses boys seem to be on fire today. Danny managed to convert a further try. All the boys were playing amazingly.  Some really great passing down the line and great running from all the boys. Danny then managed to turn the ball over and made a great run and scored a further try. These boys were powering through some great defence line. Then crawley manag6ed to score and convert a try. But just before the half time whistle Danny managed to score a further try. What a great game to watch. These boys just had so much energy and a lot of fight.

The second half got off to another great start with Rudy making a great run through there defence line and scoring another try. The play continue with shorehambeing all over the ball and Cameron making a great turn over of the ball a scoring another try. Crawley were trying there hardest to keep possion of the ball but shoreham defence was just great and with some great team play Rudy scored a further try and William Calvert managed to convert the try. Ben, Rudy and Cameron all managed to score further tries before the final whistle. The shoreham boys just seemed to be on fire today and there scrum was just so strong today. They boys just seemed to be all over the crawley boys. Such an amazing game to watch. 

Final score Crawley 7 vs Shoreham 66. 

All the boys should be so proud of how far they have come. I can't believe what I saw on that pitch today. Just the best game of rugby I have ever watched and I am one very proud manager and mum. Well done boys

Look forward to seeing you all on Thursday and Sunday for more training and then we have our second league match against Haywards heath at home. So will need to discuss what we are going to cook.
