Waterfall vs Jersey

After an excellent performance last week Shoreham U13 had their first match in this years county competition. Jersey have a long way to travel but have a huge squad and a high quality set up.

The Shoreham side were clearly up for this and immediately fell into their preferred direct style of play. The rucking was excellent allowing multiple phases and the strong running soon resulted in missed tackles. Matthias got the first which was immediately followed by Louie crashing over. The first half became a procession of aggressive running delivering tries. At half time it was 11-0.

Multiple substitutions saw Shoreham lose their shape at times in the match and is something we need to continue to work on. In the second half our visitors stepped up their performance. A 10 minute period saw Shoreham defending deep in their half and working hard to protect their line. The fact they didn't let Jersey score and had the determination to drive them back was immensely pleasing. The match ended as it began with a couple of quick scores for Shoreham. Final score 16-0 with seven different try scorers.
