Hastings & Bexhill Festival under 11,s
By Dave Flynn
Arriving at Hastings with the weather looking good The team had a short warm up before there first game at 10.30am against BurgessHill.
Shoreham Had a a very good start to the game with a very strong team, there first try scored by Jake Boulton followed with tries by Thomas Kentell,Eden Supple Flynn,Ruben Edmonson and two more by Jake Boulton.
Some great passing and tackling by all players during the first half.
Second half and some player rotation, Burgess hill managed to score three tries, but we were by far the stronger team gaining another two tries scored by Jonah Roberts and Frankie Philips, making it 9-3 at the final whistle.
After a 45 minute wait we had our next game against The home team
Hastings & Bexhill.
This was a much tougher game with both sides evenly matched, although we did seem to loose quite a few scrums. The quality of play was very good, great tackles from our own players and good defence. The final score being 1-1.
Our next match was against Heathfield, finally after a very long wait shoreham hit the pitch.
Heathfield are a strong team with very good defence, but our players fought hard and strong but concieded a try but we managed to pull one back just before half time.
Few player changes in the second half and the team managed to hold them at bay with great defence work by all,but Heathfield just managed to sueeze in one more try making it
2-1 to them.
Our last match was against Seaford which was due to start at 1.15pm.unfortunately things had run over and this match did not start til gone 2pm.
I think by this Time the team was a bit tired from waiting around.
This was another very good game with both teams showing great spirit and sportsmanship, shoreham played magnificent and come off the the pitch winning 4-2.
This was a great festival and a great day of rugby for the under 11,s
Each player received a medal, and a trophy was awarded to Jake Boulton for player of the festival.
Looking forward to thiss weeks festival at Crawley.
