Hello all
What a warm welcome we got from Bognor today. They are a very lovely club and always pleased to see us. They have got a great side with some really strong players. On this occassion the two coaches decided to play 3 @ 20min ends.
We had a great turn out from our club despite being half term - . Danny Potter (capt), Cameron Mander, AJ Holmes, Daniel Norris, Daniel Hook, Ben Charpenter, Felix Mason, Finnbar Broxham, Michael Gray, Ewan Shepherd, Sean Shepherd, Rudy Heasman, and Nathan Funnell
Bognor got off to a great start with them scoring the first try and with a great convertion. Shoreham came back with some great tackling and good defence. Bognor managed to come back with another great try but unfortunately didnt quite convert it. Rudy Heasman intercepted a great pass and made a great run of the pitch and scored a phenomenal try. Bognor then made some good passes and scored a further 2 tries and converting only one. Finnbar then made a great tackling, winning the ball and running the remaining of the pitch and scoring a further try for Shoreham. Danny Potter then converted the try. Shoreham played some great rugby but bognor managed to score a further try before the first break.
First third score Bognor 31 v Shoreham 12.
The second third got off to a great start. We were playing some great rugby with some good defence but a good run for bognor and scoring a converted try. Rudy Heasman managed to score a further 2 tries with Daniel Potter converting both. Some very exciting rugby was being played today. Bognor then managed to score a further 2 tris but only converting one. With further great rugby being played before the ball went out of play for the end of the second third.
after second third score Bognor 50 v Shoreham 26.
The final third got off to a great start with some great defence and some great tackling. Bognor managed to score a further converted try. Finnbar Broxham took a great pass after some great team work and scored another try. Bognor then managed to score a further 2 converted tries. Then Sean Shepherd took a good pass from the scrum and ran the remainer of the pitch to score just before the final whistle.
Final score Bognor 71 v Shoreham 36
What a great day with some amazing rugby. It was a very exciting match and the boys should be very proud of their game play today. We have never in the past scored a try against Bognor and today we scored 6 great ones.
I was talking to two of the Bognor Coaches after the game today. I felt so proud with the very kind words they were saying about the boys. They were saying what a great bunch of lads we had and there game play had improved so much. They were also saying that whilst we had lacked technique in the past they were so pleased to see how far we had progressed.
Well that is some great praising lads. Well done. One very honoured manager to hear such amazing words...
