Shoreham 1XV made it their 2nd win in as many games after a well contested game at Buckingham Park against a strong Sussex police team.
Shoreham started well straight from the kick off with a big defensive effort pinning the police back inside their own 22. Errors soon started to creep in from the police and Shoreham's first try came from good hands all the way down the back line allowing winger Neil Dakin to score in the corner. Shoreham's front 8 were also dominant throughout the first half, Pushing over 2 tries from 5 metre scrums, both of which well controlledamd dotted down by number 8 Mick Shaw. at half time all of Shoreham's pressure didn't reflect the scoreboard after 2 smartly taken counter attack tries from the police left the score 28-14, including 4 touch line conversions nailed by fly half Adam Shaw.m
The second half was a much more competitive match as Shoreham were forced into making a number of substitutions because of injury. With serval players playing out of position the police were able to capitalise on this and showed good pace out wide scoring 3 unanswered tries, it could of been 5 or 6 if it wasn't for the defensive effort of fullback Bryn Phillips. Shoreham looked like they were going to waste the early pressure by falling away late in the game, however they found another gear and were able to grind out the win with 2 late and well worked tries.
