What was a wet and muddy day saw Crawley pay a visit to Buckingham Park to face the Shoreham 1st XV in what promised to be a close game.
The visitors gave away three early penalties within kicking distance of the posts, but unfortunately Shoreham were only able to turn one of those into points with Toby Gale managing to clear the posts.
However Shoreham did not manage to hold onto this early lead for long and Crawley answered with a try, but failed to convert it. After the restart Shoreham managed to come back with Daniel James getting the ball over the line and Gale converting to leave the score at 10-5 at the halftime whistle.
The second half did not start well for Shoreham with Crawley closing the gap by 3 with a well placed penalty kick, but all this did was invigorate Shoreham who answered back with two tries by Calum Erskine and Ethan Banister both of which were converted by Gale.
Crawley were able to dot down two of their own tries, but only convert one leaving the score quite close for the last few minutes of the game, but Shoreham held on to walk away with the victory as the final whistle sounded with the score at 24-20 and a consolation point for Crawley in the league.
